Actor Daniel Radcliffe has become a first-time parent after welcoming a child with partner Erin Darke.
The news was confirmed by Radcliffe’s publicist after photos of the couple pushing a pram surfaced online.
The 33-year-old Harry Potter star announced the expected birth of his first child with Darke just weeks ago after paparazzi caught his partner’s baby bump on camera while the pair were strolling in New York City.
Radcliife and Darke have been together for over a decade since first meeting on the movie set of Kill Your Darlings in 2013.
Darke, 38, is also an actress known predominantly for her role as Cindy in the TV series Good Girl Revolt.
The couple shared a sex scene in the 2013 movie, which according to Radcliffe is where the romance first sprung.
In a previous interview with People TV, the actor referred back to the time, saying he knew immediately “he was in trouble” by the way she made him laugh.
“There’s a moment when she makes me laugh, and I’m laughing as me and not as my character. She was incredibly funny and smart,” he said.
Despite being a couple for 10 years, the duo have always kept their relationship under wraps and only made their first red carpet appearance together in 2022.
A spokesperson for Radcliffe told the Daily Mail the new parents were over the moon with the arrival of their newborn.
“Daniel and Erin could not be happier to be expecting. They are absolutely thrilled, and can’t wait to become a family of three,” the source said.
No further information relating to the sex or name of the baby is known yet.
Radcliffe is best known for playing the lead character in all eight movies of the Harry Potter franchise from 2001 to 2011.
Since hanging up his wand, the star has mainly focussed on appearing in independent films like What if? and Swiss Army Man.
