A boy who vanished in seconds nearby a popular Gold Coast beach on Wednesday morning has been found.
Queensland Police Service confirmed the boy had been located “safe and well in the Main Beach area” following a frantic one-hour search to find the missing eight-year-old.
A QPS spokeswoman confirmed in a statement the child was found near the Sheraton at Main Beach just before 12pm.
It is roughly 13 kilometres from where he was last seen at Burleigh Heads.
Earlier on Wednesday, police issued an urgent public appeal to find the eight-year-old.
He was described as Caucasian with light brown hair cut in a mullet, slim build and about 130cm tall.
A image of the boy captured on CCTV footage showed he was last seen wearing a navy blue t-shirt, black shorts and blue Asics runners.
The boy was riding on a scooter ahead of his parents at Burleigh Heads before he vanished in a matter of seconds, the Gold Coast Bulletin reported.
Police thanked the media and community for their help with the search.
The public appeal was shared more than 3,000 times on social media, with thousands of comments hoping for the boy’s “safe return”.
