I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here contestant Nick “Honey Badger” Cummins has copped a ruthless snake bite on Network 10’s reality TV show.
In a preview to promote Tuesday night’s episode, the show released footage of the former rugby union player participating in one of the program’s many challenges.
Cummins, who has appeared on several reality programs, is seen sticking his hand inside a box that has a dangerous animal inside – however he can’t see what it is.
The 35-year-old is standing behind the box with his hand inside when a large python snake viciously grabs his wrist, before wrapping its entire body around his hand.
Cummins is then seen clenching his face vigorously, trying to remain calm as the snake continues to strangle his hand.
“Alert Alert! The Honey Badger gets bitten by a snake!,” I’m A Celebrity captioned the video on Twitter.
Commentary in the background, believed to be from co-hosts Julia Morris and Chris Brown, has left viewers outraged.
“Let’s go…Oh my goodness,” Morris is heard saying, before Brown jumps in asking: “Are you okay?”
“I can’t believe they asked are you ok umm, NOO the snake bit him and tried to strangle his arm omg,” one viewer wrote on Twitter.
“Why would you do that to him,” another said.
“Why didn’t someone intervene quickly?!?,” a third added.
The full episode is set to air at 7.30pm on Tuesday night, with the show filmed in the jungle of South Africa.
