West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has cautioned that some groups are trying to defame the Universal Humanism, with a view to provoking communal riots. In an attempt to foster harmony among the masses, she particularly referred to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), warning against their purported divisive agendas.
Banerjee stressed the need for communal harmony in the state and asked the people to stay alert against elements that aim to disturb peace and stability. She was concerned about the increasing trend of hatred and animosity towards certain communities, which she felt was a threat to the fabric of Indian society.
The Chief Minister's call for harmony comes in the wake of increased tensions between various communities in different parts of the nation. She emphasized the need for individuals from all walks of life to unite and foster a spirit of brotherhood and understanding.
Banerjee's comment has initiated controversy regarding the activity of some groups in fostering communal harmony. Some have appreciated her call for stability and peace while others have held her responsible for targeting certain individuals. The BJP and RSS haven't yet given a response to Banerjee's accusations.
In her address, Banerjee emphasized the importance of working together to create a cohesive society where people of different backgrounds can live in harmony. She appealed to the people of West Bengal to shun forces that try to divide them and instead work towards the development of a more inclusive and humane society.
