Embassy Bamako

Bamako, the capital city of Mali, is home to many French ex-pats who came to the country as business men with the intention of establishing their own companies within the region. This particular building is more than just a gentleman’s business office, it served as the residence of the Novel de Bresoles who owned extensive lands in the area during the later 1800s. In this modern day, the building itself is recognized as “featured in the National Heritage” by Bastion Archinard.

This dual of French architecture is what gave the building it’s Masterful European look. During the 1970s, the Malian Government decided to revamp the building and give it a more modern touch, changing the windows and balconies while dividing the space into various business offices. This process did alter the look, but the frame as well as the exterior has been retained beautifully.

Due to it's history and beauty, the structure is now used primarily for hosting special functions.

Looking at the building in its entirety, it is definitely one of the most prominent remnants from the colonial era that has sustained centuries of beauty and power.
