Modi Government Fails on Social Justice, Says Kharge

Kharge Slams Modi on Social Justice Issues

Recently, the leader of the opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, sharply criticized the Modi government for its failure in social justice, particularly in neglecting Dalits and Adivasis. He said that while the government claims to be focused on the welfare of marginalized communities, its actions tell a different story. Kharge highlighted the disturbing incident in Ayodhya, where a Dalit woman was brutally assaulted and killed, with the police and authorities remaining silent and ineffective in addressing the matter.

Kharge pointed out that despite the Modi government’s claims of development and progress, Dalits and Adivasis continue to face severe challenges. He noted that while Modi’s government and its allies claim to represent all citizens, the reality is far from that, with many communities, especially Dalits and Adivasis, still struggling. He also referenced the wealth of industrialists like Ambani and Adani, suggesting that the government prioritizes the interests of the rich and powerful, leaving the underprivileged to fend for themselves.

The opposition leader also highlighted some dismal statistics relating to farmer suicides, especially during 2024, when over a million farmers committed suicide because of distressful economic conditions. He criticized the government's approach as being rather indifferent and did not have actual solutions for the distressed masses. He said the rise in the number of suicides among farmers has reflected a deep issue within the system, and it has worsened due to the economic policies of the incumbent government.

Further, Kharge condemned the government's inability to protect and uplift the poorest among society, saying it betrayed all promises made to the people. He also was quick to point out that the government has been more concerned with political gains rather than genuine reforms, with claims of growth and prosperity now tarnished by increasing poverty and inequality everywhere in the country.

The leader of opposition also criticized the central government policies which have not addressed the pressing issues of creating jobs, farmers' welfare, and healthcare. Kharge added that these failures have resulted in the growing frustration of the youth and common man, especially from the rural belts, who have been facing troubles without any kind of support from the government.

In conclusion, Kharge called for a united effort to resist the Modi government's regressive policies and demand accountability. He emphasized that the future of the country must be focused on true development, where every individual, especially Dalits, Adivasis, and marginalized communities, can live with dignity and access equal opportunities.
