Intense Election Campaign Heats Up in Delhi's Triangular Battle

Delhi Election Campaign Intensifies

In the heat of the ongoing intense triangular battle in Delhi's New Delhi Assembly elections, the campaign is currently in full swing. With the end of public campaigning, the quiet phase has begun, and voters will cast their ballots this coming Saturday. In the midst of this, BJP workers have been accused by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal of carrying out widespread attacks on AAP supporters. He pointed to a recent incident in Rohini, where AAP MLA Mohinder Goel was allegedly assaulted. There were also reports of violent attacks on campaign vehicles in New Delhi's electoral districts.

A special campaign has been launched by the BJP against Union Minister Amit Shah, with a program called 'Amit Shah's Goons,' targeting the BJP's actions. Kejriwal also demanded that independent election observers be appointed for the New Delhi constituency, stressing that political parties must refrain from indulging in vote manipulation or any unlawful activities.

Kejriwal further targeted BJP, terming it the "encyclopedia of lies," and accused the party of finding new ways to engage in corruption. Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi also attacked the government for increasing household goods prices due to GST. She argued that the current government was making the lives of people unbearable.

With just two days remaining before the Delhi assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made attempts to rally middle-class voters. He promised that under the new budget, there would be significant tax relief for those earning up to ₹1 lakh annually. Modi also mentioned that this budget marked a historic moment, claiming it was the first time so many middle-class citizens had been acknowledged.

In his campaign speeches, Modi reminded voters that under former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru's rule, individuals with a certain annual income were subjected to income tax, something he said would no longer be the case under his leadership. The BJP, according to Modi, is the only party that respects the middle class, promising to continue supporting them.

Meanwhile, Kejriwal condemned the claims of BJP saying that they were false promises and allegations of corruption. He told the people that if AAP comes to power, it will take strong action against corrupt elements. Kejriwal also stated that AAP's principles have gained widespread public approval.
