India- BJP wins in Delhi, Assembly Elections -2025

BJP wins in Delhi,-2025

Modi's Victory Again: A Moment of Triumph Amidst Kejriwal's Early Setback Prime Minister Narendra Modi secured a much-needed victory in Delhi, despite internal party critiques suggesting that the time for Modi to win elections was over. The victory came after a significant political period marked by questions about Modi's potential to continue winning. Amid all such speculations, Delhi's win proves his significance in the ongoing political scenario of the country which is also giving all the credit to Union Minister Amit Shah for it.

Delhi is a union territory and not a state that directly comes under central governance so that the party BJP has higher authority over administration here. Given the nature of Delhi’s governance and its centralized control, no major changes are expected in the BJP's approach to the region. Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had championed the ‘Delhi model’ of governance, which was centered on welfare, but BJP's dominance suggests it could introduce a different, middle-class-centric vision for Delhi’s future.

However, the bigger issues like pollution and the pathetic condition of the Yamuna River, which the world is talking about, are still the challenges for the BJP government. How soon these issues are remedied will be a telling sign about the success of BJP's policy. Additionally, issues to make Delhi a 'smart city' may present challenges in coming years. Activist-driven politics and public engagement will continue to set the city's path of future trajectory. Kejriwal, who has won majorly all elections he contested so far, has many reasons to be concerned now. His responses showed frustration and a sense of concern for what is in store for him

. In such a scenario when AAP could not garner the numbers of seats to its favor, speculations start surfacing relating to Kejriwal about moving to Punjab or shifting. Following AAP's defeat in this election, experts say that he will be flooded with more litigation cases. According to reports Modi also hinted against Delhi government after citing a Comptroller and Auditor General, India report. This may create legal challenges for AAP and may even lead to political repercussions. In Punjab, BJP's attempts to destabilize AAP, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, have been discussed. Congress is still being blamed for AAP's fall, especially after Congress won more seats than BJP in some key regions. Despite these setbacks, it remains unclear whether Congress will strengthen opposition or align itself with the initiatives of the BJP in Delhi.

Political analysts feel that had Congress supported AAP better, the results of the elections could have been different. Nevertheless, the trend of the recently held political contests in Delhi clearly indicates that elections in the near future will once again be dominated by the game of changing balance between the BJP, AAP, and Congress.
