The Xiaomi SU7 has been officially launched on the market, and the truth is that it has already brought some problems with shipments, with accidents and now, with its trunk.
This last week the Xiaomi SU7, the first electric car launched by the technology giant, Xiaomi, officially debuted. Among its other competitors, the SU7 has arrived to rival Tesla and Porsche, at a very affordable price.
At a price of 27,725 euros, the access version of the SU7 offers a total of 700 kilometers of approved autonomy according to the CLTC (Chinese) cycle, which is more optimistic than the European WLTP. Likewise, its electric motor develops a total power of 299 HP.
Shipping problems and several SU7 accidents
The vehicle has had a great reception during this last week, especially because, in the first 27 minutes of its launch, Xiaomi collected a total of 50,000 orders. However, it is true that there have been some problems when purchasing the electric car.
And those who opted for the premium version, the SU7 Pro, which advertises 830 kilometers of autonomy according to the Chinese cycle, will have to wait between 4 and 5 months to receive the new electric car. In the case of the SU7 Max, with 800 km of autonomy and 673 HP of power, we will have to wait between 7 and 8 months.
Likewise, as Xiaomi stated, if you want to cancel the car reservation, the money would be refunded seven days after placing the order. However, as many as almost 500 customers who requested a refund have not received it.
Although many customers have complained that the brand is not respecting its own policy, Xiaomi has stated that it may be due to user error. As we clarified a few days ago, the company has said that customers can block their orders before the 7 days have passed, in such a way that this prevents the reservation from being refunded.
Not to mention the numerous traffic accidents that have been reported this last week after its debut. Images and videos of drivers who lose control of the car without knowing how, and end up crashing, have been published on social networks.
7 people to open the trunk of the SU7
And now comes a new problem that adds to those already mentioned. And just yesterday an X user (@eVmotion_) published a video showing a SU7. In this case, the car remains motionless while several people try to open the trunk.
As can be seen in the 27-second video published on the platform of the tycoon, Elon Musk, these 7 people try to open the trunk of Xiaomi's new electric vehicle, but it seems like an impossible task.
When there are just two seconds left in the video, and after several attempts, you can see how it finally ends up opening. Will this vehicle be as controversial as the Tesla Cybertruck? We'll have to give it some time.
