Ford Everest

Ford India to introduce Endeavor as Everest in its second entry. Everest in the international market will be brought to India under the same name. Everest was brought to the Indian market as Endeavor as it did not get a trade mark earlier. Ford's current entry is changing the legal strings of the name Everest, which was trademarked by another company.

With the arrival of Everest, Ford will be able to launch the product under the same name internationally. The company has not officially announced when it will start production of the Everest in India. Everest will also arrive as part of Ford's return to the Indian market. Everest is expected to reach before 2026. Ford will launch the Everest by importing it in the first phase and then manufacturing it at the Chennai plant.

Interior, design and powertrain

Spy shots from Chennai and patent applications filed by Ford India hint that the Everest will be a three-row ladder frame SUV. The front has a boxy design. The Everest gets a larger grille, horizontal bar in the middle, new matrix LED headlights and 'C' shaped DRLs. Expect a more boxy design and 'L' shaped tail lights at the rear compared to the Endeavour.

Coming to the interior, it will be given a 12-inch touchscreen like the model in the international market. Lower models will have a 10.1-inch touchscreen. The Everest will also get Ford's latest SYNC infotainment software. The lower models will have an 8.0-inch digital instrument cluster while the higher models will have a 12.4-inch digital instrument cluster. Everest will have ADAS safety and nine airbags.

Ford has not yet confirmed the powertrain of the India-bound Everest. The Everest is available in foreign markets with a single turbo or twin turbo 2.0 liter diesel engine or a 3.0 liter V6 diesel engine. It is offered with either a 6-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic gearbox. Two-wheel or four-wheel diving options. The arrival of the Ford Everest is a challenge to larger seven-seaters like the Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster and Skoda Kodiaq.
