The Xiaomi SU7 has been a real sales success since its launch in China, garnering almost 90,000 orders in the first 24 hours. However, taming its 673 HP of power does not seem like an easy task and this leads some drivers to be involved in traffic accidents.
In recent weeks there has been a lot of talk about the first electric car from the technology giant Xiaomi. The SU7 was presented at the end of last year and the first deliveries to customers took place in March. A great example of the efficiency of Chinese manufacturers in terms of production, which in this particular case has been possible thanks to BAIC.
The new Xiaomi SU7 is destined to be a tough adversary for electric models from European manufacturers and a serious rival for Tesla and its hegemony in the global electric car market. And there is no shortage of reasons for this, with price, autonomy and technological load as the main attributes to achieve success in international markets.
Cheap, powerful and with great autonomy, the keys to its success in China
At the moment, the SU7 is only on sale in China with a starting price of 215,900 yuan, the equivalent of 27,725 euros. For this sum, buyers get an electric sedan with 299 HP of power and a range approved under the CLTC cycle (which is more optimistic, the WLTP protocol used in Europe) of more than 700 kilometers per charge of its 73.6 battery. kWh.
One step above is the SU7 Pro, which with 830 kilometers of autonomy is the most efficient version of the range. This is possible thanks to its 94.3 kWh battery, although it retains the rear-propulsion electric motor with 299 HP of power from the entry-level version. In this case, it has a starting price in China of 245,900 yuan (31,320 euros).
Finally, the most performance version of the range is called SU7 Max. It is characterized by a propulsion system with 673 HP of power and 838 Nm of torque, which allows it to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.78 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 265 km/h.
The dual-motor system is associated with a 101 kWh battery supplied by CATL and an 800-volt architecture with which it is possible to homologate up to 800 kilometers of autonomy per charge, according to the CLTC cycle. The price for the most powerful version of the SU7 is 299,900 yuan, the equivalent of about 38,200 euros, according to the current exchange rate.
But it can also be very dangerous to drive in inexperienced hands.
During the first week after its debut, different problems were already reported. Xiaomi has had to face long waiting times to deliver the cars to its buyers, reaching 30 weeks (7-8 months) for those who purchased the Xiaomi SU7 Max, as well as problems with the return of purchase reservations in canceled orders.
In addition, numerous traffic accidents have already been recorded in which a Xiaomi SU7 has been involved.
In this link you will find some videos, but the one that has caught our attention the most is the one illustrated in this article, in which the driver appears to lose control of the vehicle in the middle of a curve while accelerating.
We do not know if it is a rear-wheel drive version or the dual-motor and four-wheel drive model, although judging by the way it loses grip in the rear axle, everything seems to indicate that it was a model with a single motor. . Don't miss the video.
