India's largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki, has big plans to maintain its dominance in the ice-engine vehicle market and enter the electric vehicle market. Maruti Suzuki's first electric model and a seven-seater SUV based on the Grand Vitara are all future plans for Maruti Suzuki.
The company, which manufactures several vehicles, has recently acquired the copyright of two names for vehicles in India. Suzuki Escudo and Torquenado are copyrighted. It is not clear which vehicles these names are for. Rumors suggest that the name will be given to the upcoming electric models.

Meanwhile, among the long-term plans announced by Maruti is a seven-seater SUV. Electric MPV, Electric Hatchback, Micro SUV, Entry Level Compact MPV and have These names can be given to any of these models.
There is already an SUV on Japanese roads called the Escudo, which has now been copyrighted in India. Suzuki has delivered. This name is given to the vehicle that comes in the range of Vitara. Therefore, it is estimated that this name may be given to the seven-seater SUV that is being prepared based on the Vitara in India. However, there is no indication as to which vehicle Tornado will be offered.
Maruti has released the concept of the electric vehicle under the name EVX, but the production version may not arrive under this name. Therefore, there are rumors that the name Torquenado may be given even to this vehicle. Maruti Suzuki unveiled the concept of its first electric model at the 2023 Delhi Auto Expo. The model may arrive later this year or early 2025.
