Metta is all set to give its instant messaging app WhatsApp a facelift by infusing new features powered by artificial intelligence (AI). Meta is going to bring an AI chatbot and an in-app AI photo editor within the app itself.
Meta's AI chatbot competes in the AI chatbot arena dominated by ChatGPT and Google's Gemini. Metta plans to introduce it to WhatsApp, which has billions of users worldwide, to make it more popular.
WhatsApp feature tracker website WABetaInfo has released information about these new features. The code related to the AI features was found in WhatsApp's Android version 2.24.7.13 update. These services are under construction and cannot be tested by beta customers at this time. Only codes related to these two features were found
WABetaInfo has shared a screenshot showing how the feature can be seen on WhatsApp. Meta AI Chatbot is the first AI feature in Android 2.24.7.14 beta version. Similar to ChatGPT, the chatbot is based on generative AI developed by Meta.
Meanwhile, when selecting an image to send, an AI editing button will appear along with the editing options shown above. Tap on it and you will see options like Backdrop, Restyle and Expand.
