The Skoda Epiq will be one of the six electric cars that Skoda will reveal next year and it will be an urban SUV made in Spain with more than 400 km of autonomy. In addition, it will cost about 25,000 euros to serve as access to the BEV range.
After the revelation of its financial results, Skoda has surprised by revealing a preview of what will be its next electric urban SUV. It is called Skoda Epiq and it is a small SUV that takes many of the keys from the Vision 7S that we saw in 2022, adapting them to a model that promises to have a starting price of about 25,000 euros.
According to the Czech manufacturer, this will be one of the six electric cars that it will present next year. Furthermore, what we see in the images is really a rendered prototype and not photographs of a real car, but it does provide many details about what we can expect in the not-too-distant future.
With a length of 4.1 meters, the Skoda Epiq looks like a kind of Vision 7S in miniature, since its appearance is clearly reminiscent of that prototype. It is based on the language called Modern Solid and is characterized by a very robust appearance and a clearly modern style.
On the front, the voluminous bumper with details in Unique Dark Chrome and orange color draws attention, a tone that is also found in areas such as the mirrors, wheels and roof rails. Likewise, the front also presents a fine T-shaped Matrix LED lighting, a pattern that is replicated in the rear lights.
Along with this, it is also worth mentioning the so-called Tech-Deck Face that has been placed where the grill would usually be located. According to the manufacturer, it is a reinterpretation of its traditional grille and has elements such as radar and the front camera.
Continuing along the side, the robust character of the Skoda Epiq design gains more strength, thanks to wheel arches flanked by protections, which surround generously sized wheels and aerodynamic style. In addition, the line follows the usual pattern of an SUV and details such as a very thick C-pillar stand out.
Finally, thus we arrive at a rear that has a lighting signature that follows the pattern that we have already seen on the front. Likewise, we once again find a robust bumper with a series of vertical slits, while the spoiler located on the trunk lid helps to improve aerodynamics and provide a sporty touch.
Be that as it may, while the exterior is interesting in this electric prototype, so is the interior. Two details have already been announced here: a trunk capacity of up to 490 liters and enough room for five people. This will be the case in a minimalist cabin, where a digital instrument panel and a central screen will be placed, as usual.
Along with this, the steering wheel follows the manufacturer's present style, with a two-spoke design. In addition, it has physical buttons, but also haptic scroll wheels for certain functions. On the other hand, you can also see physical controls on the center console, where a wireless charging area for mobile phones is also located.
Even so, all this is not too far from what other brands currently offer. For this reason, the Czech firm will seek to add its touch with several storage spaces and practical elements in areas such as the trunk, with the well-known hooks for bags or a double bottom. That is, these are the solutions they call 'Simply Clever'.
It will have more than 400 km of autonomy
Finally, no data is yet known about the electrical mechanics that the new Skoda electric SUV will have, so we will have to wait to know the keys to the Epiq's engine. However, there is talk of a maximum autonomy of more than 400 kilometers and that it will support bidirectional charging to provide energy to different devices.
Thus, the Skoda Epiq will be manufactured at the Volkswagen Group's Pamplona factory and will be the first to arrive in the battery car campaign prepared by the Czech firm. It will be next year when we will meet it and it promises to arrive with a price that will be around 25,000 euros.
