With the tightening of pollution control laws, the number of diesel car models from the Indian market has decreased to a great extent. Even then, at least some car manufacturers are allowing diesel models to remain in the market. The reason behind this is the interest and sales of diesel cars. Hyundai Creta diesel still accounts for 45 percent of the midsize SUV segment. Kia had informed that 42 percent of the people who booked the facelifted Seltos chose the diesel model. Mahindra XUV300 Facelift
The Mahindra XUV300 will come with exterior changes similar to the recently facelifted XUV400 EV. It is expected to arrive early this year. Expect two 10.25-inch screens inside. The 117hp, 1.5-litre diesel engine will continue with a manual/AMT option. Apart from this, Mahindra also offers two 1.2 liter turbo petrol engines for this model. Price 10 Lakhs – 15 Lakhs.
Tata Curve
Tata's mid-size SUV coupe, the Curve, will be available with four powertrain options. EV will come first. Diesel and finally petrol and CNG powertrains will arrive. Expect the Nexon's 115 hp, 260 Nm torque, 1.5-litre diesel engine on the curve as well. 14 Lakhs-20 Lakhs for the curve which will arrive in the middle of this year.

Mahindra Thar 5 Door
The 2.2-litre diesel engine will be the same in the three-door model and in the 5-door variant. The Thar comes with 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox options. Expect more size and amenities. A dashcam, rear AC vents and a large infotainment touchscreen are all available on the 5-door variant. The price of Thar, which will hit the market in the middle of this year, is 16 lakhs-20 lakhs.
Hyundai Alcazar
Hyundai Alcazar Facelift
Hyundai will introduce the Alcazar with similar changes to the facelifted 7-seater Creta. Expect more features. The 116 hp, 1.5 liter turbo diesel engine will continue. There will be 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox options. 17 Lakhs-22 Lakhs for the Alcazar, which will arrive in the middle of this year.
MG Gloucester facelift
MG Gloster has been in the Indian market for four years. MG is preparing to present Gloucester with changes, which is time for a facelift. The new grille, lights, bumpers and cladding will bring changes at a glance. The 161hp P2.0-litre turbo diesel engine will continue. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. In the four-wheel drive model, the same engine will have a power of 216 hp. Expected price of MG Gloster by the end of this year will be between 40 lakhs and 44 lakhs.
