The electric Mercedes-AMG of 2026 has been presented in Sweden, after carrying out a test on a frozen lake. We tell you about it in this article.
A few months ago, at the presentation of the Mercedes-Benz E Class, the German firm put on the table a project that will finally become a reality: manufacturing more electric cars than combustion cars in Europe from 2026-2027.
A few days ago there has been talk about what will be the new Mercedes electric sedan. Well, the German firm is located in the north of Sweden, and has decided to carry out the first tests for its new electric models.
In fact, a funny thing that happened is that Mercedes didn't expect to be caught red-handed, but that's what happened. And several photographers have spotted the new electric sedan before the German firm announced it. However, it is still unknown what name it will receive.
The new Mercedes electric sedan, tested
The first EV-specific architecture developed by Mercedes-AMG is undergoing its first winter tests in northern Sweden. The high-performance platform.
But, although we do not know any type of information, what has been made known is that the AMG.EA (AMG Electric Architecture) will undergo an intense testing program that will test both the individual components as the system as a whole.
“AMG.EA is still at the beginning of a demanding and exhaustive testing plan, which will cover multiple testing grounds, continents and climatic zones,” the Silver Arrows firm has indicated.
“The future architecture is a technological pioneer that will introduce numerous innovations. The AMG.EA drive concept is based on axial flux engine technology, offering an unrivaled combination of power density, size and weight. “The innovative drive unit works in conjunction with a new high-voltage, high-performance battery,” he added.
Su mayor rival: Porsche Taycan Turbo GT
One of the biggest rivals of the new Mercedes model is the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT, so we can now get an idea of the type of features and characteristics that the next model from the German firm will have.
However, the new electric Mercedes will have a lower weight than the Porsche models. It is known that it will be available on the market in early 2026, and its presentation is expected in mid-2025. With this, we can expect to find it at the Munich Motor Show, which will take place next year.
Regarding the new electric Mercedes that will be launched in 2026, as we have mentioned, the data on its mechanics or its performance is not yet known, but what is known is that its length is around 4.75 meters. For its part, it can be assumed that the batteries of the new model are around 100 kWh, so its range should be around 500 kilometers.
