Controversy is raging in the tech world after Google removed some apps from the Play Store for non-payment of service fees for using the App Store platform in India. The apps of 10 companies in India including Matrimony.com and Info Edge were removed. Google's complaint was that many companies that are doing well despite benefiting from the Play Store are not paying the fees.
Now the owners of the company have come up against Google. Lal Chandu Bisu, CEO of Kuku FM, a leading audio storytelling app, said that Google is the worst company for businesses. He said in the post he shared on X that they are completely controlling our Indian startup system.
“Google delisted us for 25 days in 2019 without prior notice”. Those were the worst days. Imagine the environment our team works in every day at the office, without the app on the Play Store.
Now they have delisted us again. There is no choice but to accept their terms. This will completely destroy our business and make Kuku FM inaccessible to the majority of people in the country. Does a monopoly ever care about anything but its own business..?
It seems we can never operate safely if they control our ecosystem. The Indian government needs to step in to protect the startup ecosystem.” – Kuku FM CEO X wrote.

We have to save our startups, – he noted in X.
