Islamabad: A religious priest has made a controversial statement that it is legal if Pakistani stars act as married in dramas, movies or serials. There was a huge reaction on the social media against the religious priest's controversial remarks.

At the same time, some people commented that it would be better if their favorite stars, who are acting as a couple in On Streeen, are together in life too. Pakistani actress and model Nadia Hussain expressed concern over the cleric's statement. Nadia pointed out that Nikah in movies and dramas is only fictional and bears no resemblance to actual Islamic wedding rituals.

The scenes of marriage ceremony are depicted in movies etc. using fake names, witnesses and signatures. She added that there is never an Islamic wedding ceremony.

According to these Hanafi Maulvis and Hanafi school of thought – if two actors do a scene of Nikkah in drama or films – their marriage will commence in reality.
