Kia India's connected cars also managed to achieve impressive growth at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 30.9 percent. By 2032, Kia India has a strong presence in the Indian market, with global sales of connected cars projected to grow by 18 percent.
Kia's top selling connected car model is the Seltos. Seltos account for 65 percent of Kia's connected car sales. Customers are increasingly choosing Seltos with connected car features. Connected cars account for 57 percent of total Seltos sales. Karens is behind the same trend. Connected variants account for 31 percent of the total sales of the Carens. In the case of the Sonnet, which has seven variants, sales of connected cars account for 21 percent.
“We have gained the upper hand through excellence in technology and design. In today's modern world there is a huge demand for cars that support technology that suits their lifestyle. Efforts will continue to introduce more connected car features to attract the new generation of customers,” said Myong Sik Son, Chief Sales Business Officer, Kia India.
Kia India has also released information about the features that will attract customers more in Kia cars. Hinklish Commands, Remote Window-Engine-AC Commands and Valet Mode are customer favorite features. Hinckleish commands are commands like 'sunroof kholo' which are a mixture of Hindi and English. Valet Mode helps ensure privacy by controlling access to the AVNT infotainment system in Kia cars.
Kia India has a car manufacturing plant in Andhra Pradesh with the capacity to produce three lakh cars per year. Kia has launched five models in the Indian market namely Seltos, Carnival, Sonnet, Carens and EV6. Kia has manufactured 11.60 lakh cars at its Anantpur plant in Andhra so far. 9.20 lakh cars were sold in India while 2.5 lakh cars were exported.
