Renault Unveils Electric Renault 5 E-Tech at Geneva Motor Show

Electric Renault 5 E-Tech

The French brand will be present at the 91st Geneva International Motor Show.

The time has come. The Renault 5 E-Tech, the brand’s new electric vehicle, is presented at the Geneva Motor Show. Of course, the French brand will be present at the 91st Geneva International Motor Show, an event where we will see not only this novelty, but also many other relevant ones.

In the same 2,900 square meter stand in Hall 4 where we will see the Renault 5 E-Tech, we will find the latest news from the brand. But since the undisputed protagonist is the new Renault 5, the reinterpretation of the myth, we will have an ecosystem around the model.

The press conference to present the electric Renault 5 E-Tech will begin at 9:30 a.m. CET on Monday, February 26 at the stand, a press conference that will be broadcast live. In it we will be able to learn everything about this new model first-hand, with the protagonists of its development.

An important novelty is that the electric Renault 5 E-Tech is the first vehicle to incorporate Reno. We are talking about the interactive Renault avatar with which we can interact in a demonstrator located in the center of the stand. Visitors will be able to talk to this new “travel companion, intelligent, friendly and full of character.”

On the other hand, the electric Renault 5 E-Tech is the first model that uses this B-segment EV platform. A model that we can see at a stand that has been named “R5VOLUTION IS A FRENCH THING”. Here, the brand wants to show that it is prepared for the new era that we are gradually getting to know.

Attendees will also be able to interact with two technologies, two Ampere technology demonstrators. One of them will serve to understand more about the new AmpR Small platform, which as we say will be the first time that a car uses this platform.

With the other demonstrator we will be able to interact with the new engine, bidirectional charger and the optimized battery of the Renault 5 E-Tech electric. In addition, this Renault stand will have a selection of Renault 5 products, products “that revolve around the brand’s pop icon.”

We are talking about The Originals store, where items designed and manufactured with French brands will be sold. Among them we will find a Bonzini foosball table, a Shapers Club surfboard, a Saint James wool sweater and a Plume electric scooter.

So far we know that the Renault 5 E-Tech will be a small car, as it will have a length of less than 4 meters, around 3.9 meters. We are talking about a length shorter than that of a Clio by more than 10 cm. Although the model comes to replace the Zoe.

Of course, its design is inspired by the classic model, the one presented in the seventies. But with an interpretation adapted to the current times. And who would tell us that Renault would sell the Renault 5 again, and that it would be a 100% electric car.

Among the keys of the model we find, in addition to its electrical system, the multi-link rear axle, an element that we do not usually see in these segments. The car will be lighter than the Zoe and will be sold with two NCM batteries, nickel, cobalt and manganese. As far as we know, the LFP takes up more space and was not suitable for the model.

It seems that it will be offered with a 52 kWh battery, which will allow it to approve a range of about 400 kilometers, not bad. After its launch, the arrival of a 40 kWh battery is expected, which will give us less autonomy. In this case it will be around 300 km.
