Ineos has presented its next all-terrain vehicle: the Fusilier. An electric 4×4 that will come with a battery engine and another with extended autonomy using a combustion engine.
Rumors have been sweeping Europe for months and finally, the new Ineos Fusilier has been presented. The next all-rounder from the British brand founded by Jim Ratcliffe. Although the surprise comes with the fact that it will be a battery electric car and that, in turn, it will add extended range motorization using a combustion engine.
Ineos Grenadier test: the pleasure of driving an authentic, simple all-terrain vehicle that avoids electronics
This was made known in a podcast-style presentation from London with Toby Ecuyer (design director of Ineos Automotive) and the well-known motor journalist Richard Hammond, one of the three great figures of the Top Gear program years ago.
A stylized design, but faithful to the values of Ineos
In terms of design, the Ineos Fusilier retains the brand’s fundamental principles inspired by classic cars in off-road format. Square shapes and practical elements designed for offroad driving in wild environments.
And although it follows the identity of the Ineos Grenadier, it presents an evolution in the proportions and finishes of the body, with beveled edges to improve aerodynamic efficiency and details such as 7-inch circular LED lights front and rear. No frills, just utility.
Although we have not seen the interior, the president has assured that the Fusilier will opt for a distribution of physical controls very similar to the Grenadier. No huge multimedia screens with complicated menus to control the vehicle. So we will still have the aviation-style shifters on the center console and on the roof.
Ineos understands the concern that exists with electric vehicles and that is why it will launch the extended range hybrid
During the talk between the three personalities, the challenge that electric vehicles face and the controversy they represent for most people were addressed. Especially for a brand of 4×4 vehicles designed to accompany its customers on long-distance, mechanically demanding offroad adventures.

In fact, managers assured that all brands, regardless of their size, are obliged to comply with emissions regulations and certain quotas presented by the political class. Something that has led to the launch of the Ineos Fusilier with two versions: 100% electric and extended range using an internal combustion engine.
Although few details have been revealed about the vehicle, it is known that it will be an all-wheel drive SUV designed for all types of users. From those looking for a luxury SUV on the road and in the city to adventurers who, obviously, will not be able to charge their car during long off-road routes.
Sir Ratcliffe highlighted the importance of delivering ultra-low emission driving without compromising range. And on a personal note, he added that he would “choose the extended range version without hesitation.” An engine that could reach 700 kilometers of autonomy, while the electric one will be around 400 kilometers.
For now, we will have to wait to obtain more details about the engine. Both at the level of batteries (which will come from Korea) and the motors themselves. However, they have anticipated that in the case of the extended-range electric vehicle, a pre-existing modified internal combustion engine will be used. Something similar to what the Ineos Grenadier off-road vehicle offered with 6-cylinder BMW engines.
For now, there is still a lot of work and also many extreme tests, such as those that the brand intends to carry out on the Schöckl Mountain in Austria, near the Magna factory, the brand’s main partner in the construction of these cars. There is plenty of time, as the vehicle is expected to be launched on the market in 2027.
