Namibian President Hage Geingob Passes Away

New Delhi: Namibian President Hage Guingob passed away. He died while undergoing treatment in the hospital. The death was announced by Vice President Nangolo Mbumba. Mbumba said the president died early Sunday morning. He added that his wife Monica Jingos and children were with him at the time of his death.

He was diagnosed with cancer last month. He also spoke to the public about the disease. Then the President’s Office announced that the President will go to the US for treatment and will return on the 2nd.

Gigob was elected as the President of Namibia in 2015. He was elected president in the subsequent elections. In 2014, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, but after recovering from the disease, Gingob reached the presidency.
