Mahindra Global Pickup concept model was unveiled on August 15, 2023. Based on the Scorpio N model, the name of this vehicle will be Scorpio X. Mahindra recently acquired the copyright for this name. With this, rumors are rising that this name may be given to the upcoming lifestyle pickup.
Mahindra has announced that the production version of this vehicle will start hitting the roads by 2025. In the first phase, it will reach South Africa, Africa Middle East, North African countries and ASEAN countries. As the copyright for this name has been obtained in India, it is estimated that this vehicle may reach our roads as well.
If we check the design of the concept model, this model has been prepared with an aggressive look. New grille, projection headlamps and LED. DRLs, line-like foglamps, off-road-friendly bumper and two tow hooks give the face a serious look. It comes with five-spoke alloy wheels and off-road tyres.
LED mounted on a carrier provided on the roof. The light strip and snorkel provided at the front give all the looks of an off-road vehicle. The rear load area is arranged in a flying buttress design. It also has space for two Steppini tires. It has a small LED taillight. Two tow hooks are provided on the rear bumper.
Mahindra has prepared this pickup truck with a cabin with two rows of seats and a load area. The manufacturers assure that the interior of this vehicle will be equipped with new technological systems. We can expect 5G connectivity, semi-automatic parking, level two ADAS and sunroof. It will also get infotainment system and automatic climate control.
It is reported that this vehicle will be powered by a Gen2 Mhawk diesel engine. The 2.2 liter engine will be offered with an automatic-manual transmission. The manual model produces 175 bhp. Power is 370 Nm. torque will also be produced. Meanwhile, the automatic version produces 175 bhp. Power is 400 Nm. Torque will also be provided. Equipped with a ladder frame chassis that ensures five star safety, this vehicle will be offered with four driving modes.
