There are currently two models of Toyota Century. Century is a unique value vehicle due to its unique construction features. Toyota’s Motomachi plant currently produces only 50 Century sedans per month. The Century SUV is manufactured at the Tahara plant. The Century SUV is built on the GA-K platform. Toyota’s own luxury brand Lexus, Toyota Grand Highlander and Lexus TX SUV are built on the same platform. A turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine, electric motor, and lithium iron battery combine to produce 406 hp. Toyota’s hybrid technology also aligns with luxury car buyers’ interest in low-emission vehicles.

Century will be branded above Toyota’s luxury brand Lexus. Century stands a step above in terms of technology, reliability and uniqueness. Toyota has launched the GRMN Century SUV at the Tokyo Auto Salon. Toyota trademarked the name Century at the international level also hinting at their moves. Century will be launched as a leading global luxury brand from Toyota.

Despite being a superhit in Japan, Century and Toyota are facing various challenges when it comes to the international market. Toyota is expected to bring more models and more number of cars under Century. Toyota has launched the Century SUV with left hand drive in China. Through this, Toyota is also giving an indication that changes according to the market can be expected in century vehicles.
