Two cities from India have made it to the top ten. Bengaluru and Pune are at the sixth and seventh positions. The TomTom study report included suggestions for promoting public transport and reducing congestion. London came out on top as the most congested city in a comprehensive study of 387 cities in 55 countries.
Close behind is Ireland’s capital Dublin at 29 minutes and 30 seconds and Canada’s major city Toronto with an average travel time of 29 minutes. Italy’s Milan is in fourth place. In 2023, individuals in the city of Milan will take an average of 28 minutes and 50 seconds to travel a distance of 10 km. Lima, Peru is in fifth place with a travel time of 28 minutes and 30 seconds.
According to the study report, last year, Bengaluru, which is ranked sixth in India, took an average of 28 minutes and 10 seconds to travel 10 km. In another Indian city, Pune, a person spent 27 minutes and 50 seconds to travel 10 km. Pune is followed by Bucharest in Romania, Manila in the Philippines and Brussels in Belgium at the eighth, ninth and tenth positions respectively.
