Gaza: The attack on the UN truck that brought food to the starving Gazans who lost even their beds in the Israeli attack. The truck was fired upon from an Israeli warship. The UN agency reported that food items were destroyed and the vehicle was damaged.
An Israeli warship launched an attack on a convoy carrying food to northern Gaza early this morning. UN Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNWRA) Gaza Director Thomas White confirmed that no one was injured in the incident. Pictures of the trucks damaged in the attack were published on the agency’s X account.
Israel’s ground, air and sea attacks for the past four months have destroyed all of Gaza’s infrastructure. Israel destroyed all food, water and medicine distribution systems. With the destruction of many hospitals, war-wounded and other patients are seeking treatment. Millions of Palestinians who have lost their homes and livelihoods and are living as refugees along the Rafah border now rely on UNWRA for everything.

However, many Western countries have recently stopped funding it. With this, the work of the agency is very tight. The agency had warned that it would be forced to cease operations if a decision was not taken to restore funding. In the meantime, the incident of the Israeli attacker shaking the truck that came with the aid also comes out.
Antonio Guterres, the head of the UN, requested the world nations to restore funding for UNRWA, which is involved in service activities in Gaza, the other day. The statement signed by the heads of 15 international organizations, including the UN, pointed out that the move by various member states to temporarily suspend aid would have devastating consequences for the people of Gaza. “Denying funding to an NGO that serves the hundreds of thousands of injured and displaced people in Gaza is dangerous and could lead to a far-reaching humanitarian disaster. The world must not abandon the people of Gaza. No other system exists as capable as UNRWA of delivering emergency aid to the 2.2 million people in Gaza. Even when their own colleagues were killed and exiled, they are still serving there,” the statement said.
