Washington: A man of Indian origin was killed in America after being hit on the head during an argument. Vivek Chander Taneja (41), who worked as an executive in Virginia, was killed. Vivek was attacked on February 2 around 2 am (US local time) during an argument outside a restaurant in Washington. Vivek is the fifth Indian American killed in the US this year.
Officials who came to know about the attack took the seriously injured Vivek to the hospital. Vivek succumbed to death on February 7. The police said that Vivek’s death was a murder. Although no one has been arrested in the case, the footage of the accused has been obtained from a nearby CCTV camera.
The Metropolitan Police sought the public’s help in identifying and locating the suspect. Police also announced a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the murder.
