The automotive world is waiting for the Range Rover Electric, which comes quietly with many innovations. British luxury car maker Jaguar Land Rover, owned by Tata Motors, is creating waves in sales even before its price. Bookings for Range Rover Electric, which started in December, have crossed 16,000.
The Range Rover Electric can be driven in snow, rain and desert alike with ease. The electric will have all the luxury features, minimalist design and off-road capability typical of Range Rover. But there will be no noise or pollution. In terms of performance, the Range Rover Electric has been compared to the Range Rover V8.
Range Rover Electric has been tested in high temperatures, snow and water up to 850 mm deep. The Range Rover Electric with 800V charging architecture will also have fast charging facility. The Range Rover Electric will be manufactured at the British plant in Solihull. The battery and electric drive unit will be assembled at JLR’s new factory in Wolverhampton.
The company released the pictures of the Range Rover Electric for the first time last December when the bookings started. It had interior and exterior pictures of the vehicle. The Range Rover Electric offers road noise cancellation and excellent cabin comfort. The vehicle will be built on JLR’s Modular Longitudinal Architecture (MLA).
Bookings for the Range Rover Electric have crossed 16,000 which shows the high demand for this luxury car. Last year, JLR was divided into sub-brands like Range Rover, Defender, Discovery and Jaguar. Jaguar will only make electric models. The other three brands will also go fully electric by 2030.
