Fisker Alaska: Electric Pickup Coming to Europe

And we are not talking about the Tesla Cybertruck, since initially we will not have it in Europe. We are talking about the Fisker Alaska.

The Tesla Cybertruck will not arrive in Europe but this, one of its most attractive rivals, will. As you read, we are not talking about the Tesla Cybertruck, since initially we will not have it in Europe. We are talking about the Fisker Alaska, a model that, like the Ford F-150 Lightning, uses electricity to move the wheels and that can be purchased by European buyers. Of course, Fisker units will be limited, so we will have to be quick if we want one of them.

“The Fisker Alaska is an advanced all-electric four-door truck that is incredibly versatile and powerful. The design of the Fisker Alaska makes a bold and strong statement,” says the brand about its model. It is one of the vehicles presented at Fisker’s Product Vision Day last year, a car that debuted alongside a compact crossover, the Pear. Also present was the brand’s high-performance grand tourer, the Ronin.

The pick-up will be based on the same platform as the Ocean SUV, which is currently on sale in North America and Europe. There is still time to see the Alaska, since it does not seem that production will begin until the first quarter of 2025. Initially, we did not know if it would be a global product or one limited to the North American public that is a fan of pick-up trucks. But after months since the presentation, the brand confirms to Autocar that the model will be available for European buyers.

The Fisker Alaska, at the time of its introduction, offered two battery capacities, 75 and 113 kWh. The first has an estimated range of 370 kilometers, while the second generates up to 550 kilometers. These numbers are according to the company’s initial estimates, estimates that could be modified. If we compare it with the Ocean Extreme, it has a maximum autonomy measured per WLTP cycle of 660 km.

If we take into account the same model, the Ocean Extreme, it has a four-wheel drive system with dual motors that produces 550 HP. For its part, the access version has 275 HP. Given its approach, Alaska’s numbers could be around these numbers. In addition, Fisker revealed that the pick-up will accelerate from 0-100 km/h between 3.9 and 7.2 seconds, depending on the variants and configuration.

And the price? Still a mystery. The brand has promised that the model will go on sale in Europe, as we say, but it is not yet clear exactly how much it will cost. Fisker itself plans to open the price of the Alaska at $45,400, which is equivalent to about 41,700 euros. If we take into account its rivals, it seems much cheaper than them. And we are referring to the Ford F-150 Lightning, Rivian R1T, Hummer EV and Chevrolet Silverado EV. They are considerably more expensive.

The Danish designer Henrik Fisker, famous for having created iconic sports cars such as the BMW Z8 and Aston Martin V8 Vantage, is the father of this model. In 2007 he founded Fisker Automotive, an automobile manufacturer whose only model then was the Fisker Karma, one of the world’s first plug-in hybrid electric vehicles.
