Microsoft Email Hack: Russian Group Targets Cyber Officials

Russian Hackers Hack Microsoft Employees’ Emails Email IDs of senior officials working in cyber security and legal departments and some employees were hacked. This has been clarified by Microsoft itself. The company informed that steps are being taken in this regard and there may be disruption in the network.

The company also said that total operations will not be affected because the hackers did not break into employee computers or Microsoft servers. Microsoft has received no evidence that the hacker group that Microsoft suspects was behind the hacking accessed the source code or AI systems.

The US says the group, known as Midnight Blizzard and Nobelium, has Russian ties. They had previously carried out a cyber attack on a software company called SolarWints, one of the contractors of the US government. Here, hackers have used a brute force method of quickly using multiple passwords on specific usernames to take over corporate accounts. This allows hackers to get hold of accounts along with emails and documents. Microsoft has been cyberattacked many times before. The company stated that the investigation into the incident is in progress and precautions have been taken.
