Tehran: Iran launched three self-developed satellites. Mahda weighing 32 kg and Kayhan-2 and Hatif-1 weighing less than 10 kg were launched into space using the country’s own Simorg rocket. They will be located at an altitude of 450 km. The Mahda satellite, developed by the Iran Space Agency, is also aimed at testing the effectiveness of the Simorgh rocket. The Simorgh had been used for satellite launches before but failed midway. The satellites were launched from the Imam Khomeini Space Station in Iran’s Simnan province.
The new airstrike comes at a time when pro-Iranian groups are reacting strongly in the region against the Gaza genocide. In Yemen, Syria, Iraq and Lebanon, there are pro-Iran organizations or factions.
More than 26,000 people have been killed so far in almost four months of Israeli aggression. Earlier this month, Iran launched another satellite named Suraiya. Suraiya was flying another rocketry developed by the country itself. Europe accuses Iran of using it to develop long-range ballistic missiles.
Earlier, Iran had slowed down its space programs under Hassan Rouhani, but reportedly ramped it up again after Ibrahim Raizi came to power.
